What the cinema stores
The website has no accounts, forms or advertising analytics. It uses a signed session cookie, midnight_visit, to recognise your browser session, authorise the shared room controls and avoid counting a reload as another admission. It has no set expiry beyond the browser session; browsers may restore session cookies when restoring tabs.
The server keeps the shared screening state, light setting and a cumulative session count. It does not keep a list of individual visitors, their IP addresses or their viewing histories in the cinema database. The aggregate count and room state remain until the publisher resets or removes them.
Your sound preference (midnight-sound-muted) stays in your browser's local storage until you change it or clear the site's data. This preference is not sent to the cinema server. Your local time zone is read in your browser to display the programme; no location permission is requested.
The essential session cookie and shared room processing support the operation and security of the cinema, on the basis of the publisher's legitimate interest in providing it. Browser settings remember choices you request.
YouTube and other providers
Films are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced player. No YouTube player or player script loads while you stay in the lobby. Entering a screening loads the YouTube player without a separate permission prompt. Google may receive your IP address, browser information and viewing activity, and use cookies or browser storage when the player loads. Privacy-enhanced mode does not make playback anonymous.
You can browse the programme without entering a screening. The Leave button removes the film player and returns you to the lobby; existing player scripts may remain loaded until you close or reload the page. Leaving does not erase information Google already received or cookies Google previously stored; you can manage those through your browser and Google account.
The typefaces are served by this website, without contacting Google Fonts. Cloudflare receives technical connection data to deliver and protect the website. These providers may process data outside the European Union. Their privacy policies describe their retention periods and international transfer safeguards: Google privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy.
Your privacy choices
You can clear this website's cookies and storage in your browser. For a request to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data handled by the publisher, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests, contact the address above. Portability applies where the legal conditions are met. You may lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
Films, images and sounds
Films play through their YouTube sources. Film editions, accompanying music, restorations and images can have separate rights; being available on YouTube does not establish public-domain status in every country. No blanket claim of public-domain clearance is made here. If you hold rights to an item and have a concern, please contact the publisher with the title and source so it can be reviewed.
Sound recordings, their creators, licences and playback adjustments are listed in Sound credits. The locally served typefaces and their original licence notices are listed in Font licences.
